It’s not over yet.
While he is speaker, McCarthy wants a serious piece of Matt Gaetz as served up bloody and cold, as he wants payback.
You can believe that McCarthy is going to politically cripple the few hold outs who did not vote for him. Not directly of course, but behind the scenes.
And yes , rival powers to the US are viewing the whole affair as a sign of weakness and opportunity to strike.

Rival powers have been viewing the US as weak and incompetent since Biden took office and supported a destructive Woke agenda.
The fact that we take a few days to make our new speaker commit to some changes to house rules before casting final votes is not a bad thing.
Pelosi's house rules were fucked up.
How can you not see the non-Democratic dystopia when she requires house Dem's to give their proxy vote to her and only allow 1 hour to review huge spending bills.
Remember "you have to pass it to know what's in it..."
Would anyone buy anything under those terms...?

"And yes, rival powers to the US are viewing the whole affair as a sign of weakness and opportunity to strike."
The rabbit is right on this one
Joe takes office, Russia attacks and China rattles sabers
This is NO commentary on Trump, so don't give me your "whatabout" bullshit
Just saying that Biden is thin gruel and a mush brain.
We need new blood, fuck Biden & Trump
Time to move on to the next younger generation
Maybe get a hot chica in that Oval office

Given that almost none of the shit-for-brains on this site understand any of this and just think it's simply all out warfare by the Repubs............
There actually is a basis for some of what these guys are asking for..
It's all about the broken process of the House.
"Congress hasn’t complied with its own budget process for more than two decades, though that’s proved the least of the recent dysfunction. Beginning with Nancy Pelosi’s forced march of ObamaCare in 2009-10, speakers increasingly have centralized control to their office. Committees barely function. Members have no ability to debate or amend. Leaders disappear into back rooms to cook up mammoth bills that are dropped on the floor for last-minute take-it-or-leave it votes. Add Mrs. Pelosi’s Covid “proxy” voting rules, and most of the House didn’t even bother to clock in."
Anybody ever wonder why it's all about some 4,000 page bill with a huge budget number attached that has to be passed within hours of anybody seeing it?
Any of you nitwits think that's good for democracy, all the smoky back-room legislating?
Time to bring this shit-burger out in the open, debate and pass all 12 bills like they used to pre-Pelosi.
Just a crazy thought...........

Seriously?
Rival powers are viewing this as an opportunity to strike?
While the constitution: Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 does give congress SOME involvement - that really meaningless, especially in today's world.
The more important (as pointed out) is Article II Section 2: if any foreign power views us as weak it's NOT because of Congress, it's because, the PRESIDENT is commander in chief - NOT Congress.
Our adversaries know how our government is structured & who controls what far better than anyone here.
Duh!

you see some of the holdout interviews...gives you a little hope again
there were a few in that group that hate mccarthy, but they might have been able to change a few things for the positive
maybe some libs can opine on each one in the list...see if they have any problems with it

Well said, GBD. The House has been broken for years...time of fix it or get the hell out of the way. There were about 6 people in the entire House working for the People...they get mocked here and in the media...because the status quo gives the uneducated and the left a tickle in their puckered up buttholes.

Hx has to be the largest collection of whiny, weak, effeminate men ever seen in the annals of human history. Healthy doubt is an intellectual necessity. 24/7 anonymous bitching on a blog is a pitiful spectacle of masculinity in decline.

^ irony is this POS bitching and whining about a discussion he doesn't understand
Why do you bother posting................whiner?

"...the largest collection of whiny, weak, effeminate men ever seen in the annals of human history."

^ bellydancer
Rep. Chris Cox said many years ago, if you were to break down the House into thirds.
One third are there to do the people's business
One third are place holders that are lazy and just like the benefits
One third are evil power hungry fucks
Didn't much matter which party they were from, so keep that in mind next time you wonder WTF is going on inside the Beltway.
