Wake up early and make a big breakfast, Grab some starbucks and head for the high desert. If it were truly a perfect weekend my adventure pup would still be alive and right by my side (gawd I miss my doggy so much!) It would be summertime and I would arrive to the top of the trail to Deep Creek before 10am. We would hike down to the bottom and the cool creek will be temperate. I'll strip off all of my clothes and cross the creek to the other side where the hot springs are. I will wander up stream until I find a nice place in the shade to drop my belongings and hang my hammock. I will have a snack then grab my towel and head back to the where the creek meets the hot springs. I will climb the tall boulders and jump from the top into the creek. I will swim around the face of the boulder to where the hot spring water spills into the cool water creek and enjoy the feeling of the cool and warm water swirling around my naked skin. I will swim up to the man made hot spring waterfall and stand under it letting the hot water cascade over me creating a spray of rainbows as the water splashes off of my shoulders and catches the sun. I will make my way to the hot spring pools and soak while making friends with the other people there. I will continue to swim and soak until I get hungry. I'll have my lunch in the shade at my campsite and finish with a nap in my hammock during the hottest part of the day. when I wakeup I will drop some LSD. While I am waiting for it to kick in I will scramble up the rocks that zig zag across the upper creek until I find a large log. I will push the log into the water and straddle it like a paddle board, letting myself drift back down stream. I will float around the creek on the large log, welcoming swimmers to jump on board and take a little ride with me. I will continue to splash and play until the sun starts to set. Before it gets dark I will gather branches and dead brush and build a little fire. I will spend the rest of the night star gazing, playing with my harmonica, and making friends at the hot springs. When I am ready for bed I will retreat to my campsite, smoke a little weed by the fire and fall asleep in my hammock. The next morning I will wake up early, build a fire and make a hot meal. Then I will take final swim and soak before hike back to the top and out of Deep Creek. Yes this would be the perfect weekend for me. Thanks for the fun topic. It got me day dreaming.

Perfect weekend
Flying down to Cabo San Lucas. Hitting the Mermaid then Bolero. Hitting the dock an hour before dawn and going out with the Pieces Fleet, preferably with Captain Camacho.
Getting to a hotel for a shower and a nap. Meeting the girls from Bolero for dinner and fun. Getting a ride back to the airport.
Sleeping for a week.

Perfect day....
Waking up without an alarm, having a warm cup of tea while just enjoying the quiet light of the morning sun. Tend to my plants, put on some of my favorite records and get ready for the day.
Most likely hit up a few swap meets, farmers market, perhaps an estate sale. Grab something delicious to eat and head back home and just relax
Simply the best.

Take an early morning cruise from LA to San Luis Obispo. Grab lunch in the downtown area outside. Then make my way to Sycamore mineral springs. Grab dinner at one of the bbq spots, take a ride to Montana De Oro and chill the beach and the afternoon breeze. Make my way back to the springs, sleep on a bomb ass king bed. Wake up to breakfast and coffee. Take a hike on Biship Peak trail. Head to the Wineries in Paso Robles. Then the breweries. Then take a short cruise to San Simeon using the 1. Then back to LA.

DP, I want to go. I know where it is, just never been down in there. I use to ride my dirt bike where Deep Creek Rd. ends at the Dam and knew the owners, last house on the right. They no longer live there though. One pic in my album is a jump across the street.

AFM You definitely should make your way down to the hot sprigs when you get a chance. You have to cross the cold water creek to get to the hot springs so keep that in mind when choosing when to go. It can be deep with icy cold water during the cooler months. During the summer you can usually wade across easily and its a comfortable swimming temperature.
