My eldest daughter lives in Hawaii, so we're flying out there tomorrow to spend the holiday with her.

Up to Lake Tahoe to see the fam, gonna have to leave at 2am Wednesday to try & miss all that traffic

I cant stand holiday travel. People are act like assholes during normal times. The now times are even worse.

Stay home and have the usual Thanksgiving Prime rib dinner for 10.

Eat turkey. Sleep. Eat more turkey. Sleep. Eat assorted desserts. Repeat..

Staying local, avoiding airports, crowded malls, even family gatherings. Covid has not gone away. Now is not the time to let your guard down during the winter surge.

I’ll be with my 93 year old dad, 6 of my 11 siblings, my daughter and about 20 of my nephews and nieces. In actuality in our family it’s a small crowd. If everyone showed would be closer to 80.

Making Turkey and prime rib for my parents. Dad will get the Turkey, mom loves prime rib. Giving them the leftovers so they wont have to cook for awhile. Will also make a Turkey congee from scratch with the Turkey carcass.

Hosting around 13 this year (down from the usual 20-plus); just family and 2 oldest pals. Everyone's double vax'd and most also have had their booster.
The LA Times article about Thanksgiving safety the other day said if there is ANYONE from outside your own household present, that everyone should be masked indoors and to eat outdoors if possible.
We skipped Thanksgiving entirely last year due to Covid. At least this year we can see siblings, their adult offspring, parents, old besties.
Turkey, ham, lots of sides, music jamming, lots of great wine and cocktails.

If anything I’ll be doing a thanksgiving livestream.. something for the peeps staying home this year. Given my bum ankle I don’t have the energy to go deal with people lol

staying home - turkey dinner with my family and some friends, probably getting drunk by 2 pm.
and then Friday maybe a visit to Catalina - the weather is looking promising.
