Brush fire near Santa Fe Dam in Irwindale stopped at 15 acres

A vegetation fire burned near the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area in Irwindale on Sunday afternoon, August 1, and was stopped at 15 acres by firefighters, authorities said.
The fire was reported at 4:26 p.m. near 15501 East Arrow Highway and was influenced by hot and dry conditions, said Capt. Ron Haralson, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The fire's forward progress was stopped around 5:50 p.m., Haralson said.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department assisted with evacuating homeless individuals living near the area, Haralson said.
