On behalf of the HX community
Amazing, Well done Sir!
I'll never use it, way to much work, but thank you very much.

> way too much work
I hope you will be pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to install this. The installation walkthrough video is 50 seconds long, and I'm done with the installation before 30 seconds is up. The remainder of the video is just one more demo of this UserScript in action.

Someone asked me whether this would work in incognito mode or not.
YES, it does.
- Go to Chrome's Settings.
- Click on "Extensions".
- Find Violentmonkey and click on "Details".
- Toggle the "Allow in incognito" switch.
Thanks to the person who asked. It's something that a lot of people will want to know.

Nice!

Thank you Mr. gg. Works flawlessly.

Seriously awesome, and thank you so much for doing this!
The video is not that intuitive for the non-technical, IMO. I finally figured it out, but just in case anyone struggled like I did:
1) Install ViolentMonkey extension into your browser. This is pretty intuitive, just click through to the install page and don't forget to check the "private browsing" or "incognito" option.
2) Click on the User Script link and you will go to a GitHub page. Click on the "Raw" button. This should take you to a page that says "Installing script - Violentmonkey"
3) On the upper right, click "Confirm Installation" and "Close"
4) You should be all set. It is awesome. Thanks again, OP!

I have been using the extension imagus for years. I'm not going to compare since it's working fine.

Thanks for the assist. It's hard for me to understand the non-technical perspective, because I've been in tech for so long.
@upsilon I did not know about Imagus. It does the same thing my extension does but for any web site. That's useful.

Hopefully helpful for others like me. Thanks again for your work. Changed my quality of life immensely! lol

UPDATE v1.0.4
The lightbox is enabled for /photos.
This is the page where you can see recently uploaded images. To make it possible to look at images quickly on this page, I applied GLightbox to this page like I did for the individual photo galleries.
Profiles without a profile pic had unreachable photo galleries until now.
There are a lot of profiles that don't have a profile pic (or Humanicon as this site calls it). That's a problem, because there's no easy way to navigate to their photo galleries, because there's no profile pic to click on to link you to their photos. To solve this, I had my UserScript insert a placeholder image that's linked to their photo galleries.
To see what I mean, try the following.
1. Visit KendraLoggins profile.
2. Notice that she doesn't currently have a profile pic.
3. Upgrade your HX UserScript by clicking the link below and clicking on "Raw" and then confirming the installation.
4. Then visit KendraLoggins profile again.
5. Notice she now has a placeholder picture that can be clicked.
6. Check out her previously unreachable photo gallery.
Watch the demo video to see how it should be working.

Great job! Can I get it to work on ios/Android browsers? I mainly use computers for work and this site is NSFW for guys.

@gg1234
Why doesn't the site's administrator just add this script to the site's code so that everyone can enjoy this functionality?
|
|
|
Looks like this works on Chrome but i use Firefox. What extension would OP recommend for adding the JS to Firefox?
|
|
|
Works on the (recent) photos page as well, now! Excellent work!

@Goddess.Euphoria
Thank you.
@islandtalent
Mobile users are out of luck. It used to be possible on Firefox for Android, but their recent releases broke compatibility with a lot of extensions. The iOS side never really had a viable way to run UserScripts natively for some reason. There are clever hacks that involve running your own proxy server to do script injection at the server level, but even I think that's too much work for too little gain.
@mildlyamusing1
That's a good idea. It didn't occur to me to contact them, because I'm new here. Making this code "official" would certainly help people the people who want this functionality on their phones. I'll try to contact them, and see if they get back to me.
@hornytoad
Violentmonkey is available for Firefox, too. I've been testing this UserScript under Chrome, Brave and Firefox this whole time, so I can confirm it works in Firefox.

Thanks @16thPres.

I'm not very knowledgeable about this stuff but when installing says "allows to read and change data on all websites you visit". Does that mean it can see my banking/other sensitive sites as well?
|
|
|
@jcbl Violentmonkey can work on any page like every other browser extension can. However, it'll only run the UserScripts you install afterward. The UserScripts I've been sharing here are constrained to only affect humaniplex.com pages.

I still love this piece of work.
My latest use of it is to play "Mystery Date" (named after the old 1970's board game) where I start with the (new) Photos feed and scroll through as many as I can until I get shocked or grossed out.
lol
Like visual russian roulette.

Glad you're enjoying it. Here are a few useful tips that you may have already figured out through trial and error.
- Left and Right arrow keys can be used for navigating to the previous or next image.
- The Esc key will close an image.
- If an image's height or width is greater than your browser window, you can click on it to zoom in and click on it again to zoom back out. While zoomed in you can drag the image around.

Would this code works if I use it under Edit Profile and apply on HTML allowed?
Looks like a strict access
}
$script.src = '//cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/mcstudios/glightbox/dist/js/glightbox.min.js'
with no closing line >
hmm.. probably will not work huh
|
|
|
@s1xxpy Although some HTML is allowed in profiles, I don't think that includes script tags. I tried adding a script tag to my own profile to test things out, and it didn't seem to go through. The potential for abuse is probably too great.

@gg1234 Noted. Thanks. 👍

|

This script is awesome. Thanks!

|

Hey - can I load this on my iPad?
|
|
|
@iamsirious I'm glad you liked it.
@16thPres I don't have any iOS devices so I can't test this myself, but there seems to be a way to run userscripts on a jailbroken iOS device. Check out the link below if you feel adventurous.

Thanks much to 16thPres above. Couldn't follow instructions in the video but your explanation clear and works perfectly. Much Thanks.
|

FYI, I moved the script over to https://sleazyfork.org/en/scripts/419673-image-popup-humaniplex-com. It's no longer on gist.github.com.
Also, for those who want to use this on a mobile device, Kiwi Browser for Android is capable of installing extensions. You can install ViolentMonkey and then install the userscript as usual. IOS users are still out of luck.
|
|
|
WOW - even a non-technical guy like me got this installed.
It makes looking thru pics so much more convenient.
Thank you gg1234!

@NutandBold - glad you liked it.
In other news, IOS users may be able to run this after all. See the link below.

Bump - new laptop, getting an error when trying to load Violent Monkey:
This extension is no longer available because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions.
Anyone with a workaround?
|
|
|
I got same message....anybody got a workaround?
|
|
|
Still running on Firefox.
|
|
|
I’ll just wait for the every 5 year update to this site to automatically include this basic feature.
|
|
|
nice!

If you're using Chrome, try using Tampermonkey instead of Violentmonkey. If you're wondering why it broke recently, do a search for: eff mv3.
The tl;dr is that Google made changes that crippled ad blockers on their browser, and it hurt some other extensions like Violentmonkey.
