Federal court says cities cannot prosecute people for sleeping on the streets. Orange County's going to turn into LA. Fucking hilarious.

Over in the IE, we shuffle all our homeless to the nearest dirt field (which by the way there is one every 500 ft or so) and they are perfectly happy.

Didn't know New York was considered the IE. Thought the IE stopped at Arkansas/Kansas. Learn something new every day on HX.

Where do you want them to sleep?
Homeless woman make up a large number of
woman sexually assaulted. Saying she can’t sleep
on the street where visible or there is some light only
increases the chances she is assured.

What is the point of prosecuting someone who has
no income? They can’t pay fines or court costs? Put
them in jail..... that’s a bill for tax payers!!!

All the freedoms/ rights that we enjoy in this country is one of the reasons why it is so hard to help anybody.

You can't force them to get a medical, psychological care. Can't force rehap/ cleanup or a jobs program on them.

Any programs offered is voluntary, they can quit anytime they want with no consequences.

Major issue with no real or practical solutions.

What’s your solution then?
You gonna invite some in to sleep in your home?
Give them money for rooms at hotels?
Start a homeless shelter?

Didn’t think so. So lock your stuff and bring valueables inside.

Dumbest post I’ve ever seen in my life.

Put some funding into shelters/programs that direct people to the right path and make it readily available for when they are ready to make that choice. That’s how you solve the problem.

But u see @Ruthless...thats the problem. The funding. While I 100% agree with you, the funding is the thing that is all ran by politics....not to mention, the person(s)/organizations that contribute the funding would be thinking about 'funding remorse'.

There are countless of programs and private groups geared to helping the homeless. I soo agree with u tho. It has been and always will be up to the homeless to seek out and take advantage of said programs, and its up to the ones who really care to keep the faith and not let up when they are seeking assistance.
